No matter the distance between you and Michigan and Ann Arbor, you’re never far as long as you’re a member of the Alumni Association. Because through us, you can connect with a club right in your area. We have clubs around the world that are made up of people just like you. They made that same trek across the Diag that you did. They ate at Zingerman’s. They proudly wore a T-shirt emblazoned with a big Block M. Still do. Those same people are out doing great things in your community. Connecting with them is an excellent way to strengthen that bond you have and bring you even closer to Michigan.
Placement of the Chemistry Building generated much controversy from student groups because it displaced a large portion of greenery in the center of West Campus. A temporary outdoor plaza was constructed outside of Sangren Hall in 2007 to replace the greenery. However, this also generated controversy and protests among students and faculty because of its aesthetic characteristics and costs. One such protest by a student group involved requesting the financial records of the construction and using chalk to depict the costs of each item on the plaza.
